Perhaps one of the most important tests that needs to be performed on your vehicle every year is your MOT.

MOT and Servicing

At MTS Motors, our friendly team of skilled technicians will take care of all your servicing and MOT needs. We have three busy service bays with one dedicated to conducting efficient and thorough MOTs for our customers. All our servicing is carried out to the manufacturers specifications so you can take comfort in knowing your car is in safe hands.

MTS Motors assures that servicing your vehicle reduces the risk of an accident as well as increasing fuel economy and the overall lifespan of your car. Regular changing of oil and filters help keep your engine from getting dirty, which can have a significant impact on the components inside your engine, causing faster deterioration of parts. Changing cam belts and tensioners at the manufacturers recommended schedule can save your engine needing a rebuild and can avoid getting stuck at the side of the road.

Your MOT

On average, you should get your MOT and car serviced every year to make sure that you are safe on the roads and that your car is operating efficiently. Regular servicing and vehicle inspection helps your car to perform at its full potential and can keep daily running costs down. Mechanical parts are subject to constant wear and tear and our efficient service rectifies or repairs any faults or worn components. Oil filters and fluid levels are checked, topped up or replaced and any specific regular maintenance required can be handled during your cars’ service.

At MTS Motors we have one of our three busy bays solely dedicated to conducting MOTs for our customers. We offer reliable testing from DVSA trained inspectors to make sure that your MOT passes and you’re safe on the roads.

MOT is a road safety measure designed to ensure that all cars, light goods vehicles, and motorcycles are properly maintained in compliance with important requirements of the law. Your car is eligible for its first MOT when it is just three years old, and it is a legal requirement that your car passes its MOT once a year.

Your test will take about approximately an hour to complete and, should you pass, we will provide a VT20 certificate to get you straight back on the road. You can drop your car off with us and pick it up later, or we have a comfortable reception and waiting room with ample free parking if you wish to wait with us.

What if something is wrong?

We will notify you if something goes wrong with your car during service and should your car fail its MOT, you will be issued with a VT30 certificate stating what’s wrong with your vehicle. We will speak to you directly to make sure you understand what work is required and the associated cost. This allows you to be fully informed so you can let us know whether you want us to do the work and you’re not left with an unwelcome bill. Similarly, if the work is going to take longer than originally anticipated we can let you know so you can make alternative transport arrangements. We have several courtesy cars available on our site as well, so should you require the use of one of our cars, please let us know and we would be happy to help.

If you need another MOT test, we will happily retest your vehicle for free as long as it is returned to us within 10 days from the MOT date. If you require any further work to be done, our team of expert mechanics are on hand to make sure any repairs are undertaken professionally and efficiently.

Lost your MOT certificate?

We can issue a duplicate certificate for £10 for you so that you have a copy of your MOT certificate. All we need from you is the date that your last MOT was conducted on.
